    Be sure to start your hop additions after that 30 minutes so they are added according to the recipes hop schedule.

    1 gallon or so an hour seems to be about the normal boiloff rate.

    I agree with JJL, with one exception. Get a bigger pot. I have a 30 qt and I wish I'd got a bigger one. Just as soon as SWMBO gets over the Barley Crusher Malt Mill that just arrived today:ban: ,I'm getting a 40 qt SS pot. Here's two from AHS that I'm looking at... Economy Brew Pot (40 qt)...

    Thanks, I think I like it better this way too. Yes, that's Jake, The Hop Dog, hence, my online name. Jake's a 6 year old Jack Russell and loves his beer! We have two other ones, too. Keeps you busy, that's for sure. Here's the picture Coy & Josh used to create the logo.

    I've got a Johnson A419 Digital on mine and I set it at 40* with a 3* differential. Seems to work pretty well.
