I kinda figured that as well. I don't normally bottle, but this is a gluten free beer for my mom and it's a smaller batch, so wait time really isn't an issue.
Does anyone have any experience bottle conditioning after fining with gelatine? I'm planning on giving it a whirl, but I wanted to see if anyone thought there would be enough residual yeast, of they have added yeast after racking into a bottling bucket.
Yes. I have the 30L version and the ring that screws on the top to secure it is very easy to unscrew and then the top (with a gasket) lifts off with no resistance what so ever.
Perfect! Thanks so much for the pics....I've been wondering if people have done this. Guess I'll be ordering one of these in the near future! Did you need to use any extra sealant? Or were the gaskets that come with the thermowell enough to prevent leaks?
If you have all the fittings...you could just use co2 to push the beer out. Instead of a faucet, just hook the beer OUT to a hose and transfer to whatever vessel you are using. Just make sure the pressure is low enough to not slosh when transferring.
Sweet! Thanks for the info! All this time I've been avoiding trying it because I was under the impression the gelatin took all the yeast out of suspension too. I've used it in kegs with amazing results, but now ill give it a whirl next time I bottle.
Typically you don't want to bottle after using gelatin. It will pull all of the yeast out of suspension and therefore not leave any left for bottle conditioning. At least that's what I've been reading, someone correct me if im wrong.
