Ripping the guts out of a mini fridge

Ripping the guts out of a mini fridge

I tore apart a little minifridge and definitely had to do massive foam insulation excavating with a steak knife. Those heat exchange coils CAN be bent, but only very slowly. Like benbradford said, my compressor gets pretty hot, and so do the heat exchanger coils, so I wouldn't mount that thing...

    A/C Ferm Chamber question

DON'T DO THIS BECAUSE ELECTRICITY KILLS! However, I was able to pretty easily bypass the internal thermostat in my AC unit. Mine has an analog control system. If your AC unit has printed circuit boards, bypassing the thermostat might be more difficult. As far as killing your compressor, I...

Worst Commercial Beer You've Ever Had?

I'm pretty sure they know by now. Beeradvocate.com ratings for that version of Angel's Share are rife with statements about the flatness of the beer. Must have been a packaging mishap. The one I had was from 2008, by the way. Like I said, the flavors were a great idea and individually were...

Worst Commercial Beer You've Ever Had?

Lost Abbey's Angel's Share Brandy Barrel-Aged. Simply awful. Just spent a ton of money on this and it was completely flat and oxidized up the wazzoo. This one was a big surprise and a real learning experience. It's a damn shame, too. The flavor potential is really there with the dark fruit, rich...

    Juniper Winter Ale

    Spa Panel Wiring for Dummies

So the coiled white wire is connected to the neutral line that runs from the breaker to the load?

    Spa Panel Wiring for Dummies

I have a question about that panel. Does the white coiled wire coming off the neutral-in-from-main terminal get connected to the ground terminal on the right, or is it connected to the yellow neutral terminal to the right of GFCI breaker switch? Sorry, I don't know the exact terminology.

    A fly. Oh my!

Welp, update time. So far, the beer tastes ok! Didn't take a hydro reading, but most of the krausen has dropped so It's mostly done as far as I can tell. I tasted it of course, and I don't notice any sour/acetic notes to it. It's a pretty light orange-brown color, still hazy, but I'm deeming...

    A fly. Oh my!

I hope you're right! Within 10 hours of pitching the beer was chugging along like a fat man farting in a bath tub. And it smelled a lot better.

    A fly. Oh my!

I read it and cried. Not really, but shucks. I'll keep a close eye on this one. I still have a good clean 15 or so gallons fermenting away, so at least I won't run out of beer!

    Questions about appropriate parts

Yeah, it's great stuff! I'll be putting together something a lot simpler than his or your set up, but the major components are similar. Super helpful! He really breaks it down.

    Questions about appropriate parts

For example, I started digging around for 4-wire 30 amp twist-lock plugs and there are a lot to choose from. I'm looking at this list as an example of the myriad choices of plugs and receptacles: http://www.mcmaster.com/#nema-style-connectors/=eelfjz Totally confusing. The ones considered...

    Questions about appropriate parts

I'm completely new to electric brewing, and am putting together a parts list for an electric brewing setup (Sorry if my questions here are terribly ignorant.) I am interested in this P-J diagram: http://www.pjmuth.org/beerstuff/images/Auberin-wiring1-a4-4500w-30a.jpg What kind of fuse...
