I had that happen to my first ipa. It tasted good but was just flat. It has now been bottled for 5 months. I moved it from the basement to the main floor where it is warmer. The beer is completely different from looks to taste. Just be patient and wait. It will get better with time!

I just bought a wort chiller off of someone. Whats the best way to clean it? Just soak in sanstar or something?

Don't put it back! Taste it, get a idea of what your brew will be like. Then dump it.

I also live in ohio, I am brewing my first batch this weekend. Should I not store my primary fermenter in the basement? I have been monitoring the temperature and it had been around 68-70 degrees. I was thinking this should be fine, but want to make sure since this is my first batch. Thanks..

Thanks everyone for the advise, think I will do less water this time since it seems to be the preferred and easier method. I will let you know how it turns out!
