Specialty Fruit Beer Chocolate Cherry Stout

Just a quick update: I have been drinking this for a couple weeks now. The taste is growing on me but my initial reaction was "too much sweet cherry." I have only been brewing for a year so my experience is quite low. There are some things I have learned lately that would influence how I would...

Specialty Fruit Beer Chocolate Cherry Stout

For calculating the gravity from adding sugar I did a search and came up with this thread: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f14/how-do-i-calculate-g-effect-sugar-additions-249672/ Basically, you take the sugar you add from the Nutrition Facts on the label of the juice concentrate and convert it to...

I got my concentrate at Sprouts grocery. They only had 3 of the 8 oz bottles so then I got the Lakewood organic black cherry 12 oz bottles.

Specialty Fruit Beer Chocolate Cherry Stout

I asked a similar question. I am still aging mine but I have tasted it. I used around 60oz of cherry concentrate and found it to be pleasant just like Magno said. I would say that mine is slightly more than a hint of cherry. I would say if you want a hint, then add 40-50 oz. For me however, if I...

Specialty Fruit Beer Chocolate Cherry Stout

I ended up making this about a week later than my post. I just took a sample reading today and tasted it without the vanilla or .25 lb of secondary cocoa. I am really happy with it! Thank you for sharing this recipe Magno. I added an extra 2 lbs of 2-row for a total of 12lbs. I had to...

Specialty Fruit Beer Chocolate Cherry Stout

I am making this tomorrow. I have most of my ingredients. I am a little worried about the cherry juice though. That sounds like a sh*t-load of concentrated juice. The website says one 8 oz bottle makes 32 oz of 100% cherry juice. That means that 72 oz of this stuff is enough to make 2.25 GALLONS...

    My Keezer with a twist

Great idea on the wood crate. If you type "beer crate" in ebay, there are a lot of options if that helps anyone..

Keezer fan and electrical question (pictures)

Thanks. I think I am going to go with a DC fan in hope that it uses less energy. I am going to bypass all those wires after all because I decided I want the fan to run continuously, even when the unit shuts off.

Keezer fan and electrical question (pictures)

I've begun my Keezer project and I want to order a fan for blowing air up into a 3" pvc duct into my coffin and then back down into the keezer. It will be a horseshoe path. here are some pictures: Question #1 - If I go with an A/C fan, can I wire it up using the...

    sp10 conversion to natural gas

Sorry to re-open this thread but has anyone been successful in converting the Sp-10 to Natural gas? I just got this cooker intending to convert it. I should have read this thread first but now I am considering returning it. Since a lot of people simply use their stovetop, would the Sp-10 with a...
