    Aging Beer in Oak Barrels

    Old thread but I had a question. I recently came across a 6.9 barrel of whiskey as an early birthday present. It smells glorious! Do you guys think that is too big for us 5 gallon batchers? Or should I chug this thing away? Thanks for your suggestions!

    HOLY CRAP... This beer is great. Waited patiently and cracked one open and wow! Mouthfeel lingers for a long time, tastes great, bitter is spot on, hops really shine. I just couldnt be happier. Thanks for the advice everyone!

    There is a group, they are meeting at the kona brew pub on the 20th. It's called homebrewers on pacific shores(hops). Maybe sometime this summer we can group up and make a batch of some good brews. I have been wanting to make a good kona coffee porter for a while now.
