    Burners for brew stand

I'd suggest at looking at what commercial cooking equipment uses in their kitchens... Many nice dual ring burners out there if you really want control and they are designed to work on low pressure propane.

Supercharging a natural gas BG14 burner

Maybe you'll win the lottery... The chance is there if you want to take it. I'm a licensed gas fitter and this isn't something anyone should do. Buy the correct burner that will work with your available gas pressure.

Supercharging a natural gas BG14 burner

After reading up on the BG14 burner... please take note. The BG14 burner is a high pressure burner and is not designed to run on low pressure natural gas @ 7"wc. I would strongly advise on not continuing any forced air modifications. With the risk of burner blockage or any other chance of air...

Supercharging a natural gas BG14 burner

Burners are professionally designed to work with no modifications provided they have the correct orifice installed to operate at a specific pressure. If you can provide the burner rating and manifold pressure, I can advise on the correct orifice size. If your burner is to run at 100kbtu @ 7"wc...

Supercharging a natural gas BG14 burner

As a gas fitter by trade it scares me immensely when atmospheric burners are tried to become power burners with air injection. 99% of burner issues is upstream pipe sizing. With both natural gas and propane, you cannot just look at the pressure at your burner, you need to ensure your pipe...

Gas and Temperature Control for Dummies

You can use the sensor from the kit if you have a pilot assembly it fits into. If you don't have a pilot assembly, the Q345 pilot is a nice plug and play option. Your issue doesn't have anything to do with the flame sense. Flame rectification only produces 2-4 micro amps and can be sensed...

Building 1st All Grain Rig - Looking for feedback

The chances of CO poisoning from natural gas and propane are one in the same. They are both carbon based fuels and if not ventilated correctly will have cause the same effect. I hope you're not considering a retail co detector... Really want to trust your life with a $30 product? An ideal CO...

Building 1st All Grain Rig - Looking for feedback

I'd be very leery running a high powered exhaust in your home if any of your natural gas appliances are vented into a chimney. Turning on the exhaust will cause a negative pressure in your home and flue products will enter your living space, especially in the winter when your furnace is...

    Another propane thread

Those burners are typically found in commercial kitchens under exhaust canopies. The exhaust canopy is typically interlocked with an air makeup unit which supplies pre-heated air back into the kitchen at no more than 100% of the exhaust capacity to ensure the kitchen is in a slight negative to...

natural gas setup - Question about hose diameter and BTU output

Find out which gas line is the longest from your gas meter. Take that length and look at the 0.5 psi chart on pg 3. Round up and see what your 1/2" line can supply. ie: If your longest line is 30 feet, it can only provide 97,000 btu to your stand.

Here's a link to an orifice drill size chart... http://www.hvacredu.net/gas-codes/module2/Gas%20Orifice%20Capacity%20Chart.pdf Best practice is to start two drill sizes smaller and then ream to final size.
