Subscribed! Awesome and congratulations! Only thing I would add that hasn't been mentioned is touchscreen interface, I know you are trying to keep it on the cheap, but these things have really dropped in price. I think it would be money well spent on the system. Maybe a SQL database to store...
www.stainlessbrewing.com. Awesome company. They will customer bend tubing for you and are extremely reasonable. Got my coil from them very happy with it. By the time you screw around buying s.s. Tube and tools you could have had your coil.
To keep the float ball and arm out of the way during the mash, I drilled out one of the top rim drain holes to. Accommodate the float arm. Makes for a handy storage spot.
Making mine next week. Would do it this weekend but I'm working on my still. Going to make two of these. Still have concerns about cleaning them but it seems quite a few people do it this way...
I was thinking the same thing. I was always worried I wouldn't be able to get it clean enough. I had also considered cutting a hole in the top in the shape of a corny lid for access to clean it.
I almost went a similar route for fermentation. My only concern was how I was going to clean the inside of the keg between batches. Just out of curiosity, how do you plan to clean it?
I have brewed several batches like this. I have had a full keggle on the far right burner, stood on top of the stand and lifted it and set it in the center. If you think about the way the burners mount to the top tier stand, my set up is actually more sturdy. This thing is rock solid.
