    Water filter

Check your municipal water table chart first and see what your water is like first. That filter will work just fine but you may need a different cartridge depending on your water. Different cartridges do different things. I bought one at Home Depot that has a clear housing and put a carbon...

    Anyone built a DIY sink?

You can use starboard to fab a sink. It's used in marine applications (boats) all the time. Basically plastic plywood type stuff. 5 pieces, some screws and caulk/silicon. You can make any size tub you want and it will last forever. Drill a hole for drain and plumb it up.

Jersh's Coffin keezer build - second attempt

Looking forward to the rest of this build. I have a fridge converted to a 3 tap kegerator in my garage but would like to replace it with a Keezer. However losing the extra freezer space would suck. Can't wait to see the finished project and probably steal some ideas...

    Southern California Homebrewers Festival

I am going as well. I am bringing a Saison. I am with Strand brewers also. Stop by our bar and say hello, we have 2, 11 line plate chillers so we can max out at 22 beers on tap at one time. Cheers, Graham

PVC for a mash tun manifold?

I used CPVC in mine no glue and it worked great. I just built a keggle mash tun for my Brutus so I retired it. I had no problems with it at all.

    Were to buy hops seeds/sprouts

I got some from here and they are growing like crazy right now. They still have some left. You don't actually get a seed, you get a piece of the root called a rhizome. www.thymegarden.com This is the main page http://www.storesonline.com/site/561124/page/217466 This is...

    Adding fruit to Wit

I just made a blood orange hefeweizen which turned out great. I zested the skins of the oranges, then cut off the pith(white part between the skin and fruit), then I chopped the fruit and put it and the zest in a small pot and added a few cups of water. I heated it to 170 to pasteurize it and...

    Welding Question

I bought the 120 Amp MIG/Flux Wire Welder with Wheels from HF a couple months ago and had never welded before specifically to build a brew stand. I also bought some cutoff wheels for my 10" compound miter saw. I didn't have a 220V outlet so I had an electrician friend of mine install an outlet...

    desert sage beer

Mammoth Brewing from Mammoth Lakes, CA uses sage in their 395 IPA. They only use a tiny amount. A little goes a long, long way. The 395 is really good and the sage mixes with the hops well. You can find a little info about it here but the owner/brewer is a really nice guy and I'm sure he can...

How many Bines to keep per plant

I made the mistake of listening to some wrong advice last year(first year) and cut them back to 1 bine per plant. Don't do that, I basically have brand new plants this year because they didn't get enough energy last year. Right now they just sprouted and I have between 2 and 4 buds coming up...

    2011 Hop Garden Picture Thread

Mine are starting a bit slow but are picking up some steam. They are cascade, centennial, and chinook. 2nd year plants. I have another place on the other side of my house that I just planted a Mt. Hood, and Zeus. The Zeus had 2 white shoots coming out of it which I left the tops of exposed...

    Hops as a houseplant

It will definitely work if they get enough sun inside. They will grow fast. However they will be stunted if the roots are blocked by the sides of the pots. They get a pretty big root system going especially after the first year.
