    I give you THE BEAST

Az Red, Thanks for the diagrams. I now see that you must circulate your wort through the counterflow until the temp readings are satisfactory, my guess is this is due to the nice warm groundwater you have in AZ. Next the wort is drawn off via gravity to your fermenter, via the valve without...

    I give you THE BEAST

AZ Redneck, OK, so back to your response to question 3. Do you do multiple passes through your counterflow chiller? Or let me simplify: What is happening with the two hard plumbed valves/lines on the BK? Can you walk me through it please? I'm glad to hear it works well and is easy to...

Is the rate of fermentation constant?

It sounds like you (may have) under pitched. Next time use more yeast, or make a starter. Fermentation is not at all constant, the yeast should replicate until they are feverishly doing so.. then food supply will run out, and FG will be reached. If there is bubbling wait, if not re-pitch. Do...

    I give you THE BEAST

AZredneck, First off beautiful set-up. I am very intrigued to steal/borrow ideas from your build. I have a couple of questions regarding the use of rigid tubing: 1) have you been satisfied with your ability to keep the system intact and re-circ for cleaning purposes, or do you feel compelled...

Polishing my SS brew stand. Have questions.

Working well. I have made some modifications, mostly burners and heat shields. But it works well. I have been contemplating stainless steel, and what improvement I would make. I ended up having to replace the LP SS braided flex lines I persuaded you to sell me! Anyway, I hope your new build...

    March pump substitute - Ebay

I don't have time to read all the classifieds, but I recently purchased a Chugger pump on ebay for $79 including shipping and was very pleased with the customer sevice and pump I received. Not to mention about half the price of the march pump. He also sells a stainless steel head version (same...

    (YET ANOTHER) plate chiller question

I just used my therminator for the first time and had to slow down the water flow... to keep from going below ale pitching temps... but the water is cold right now..probably less than 50. And was very easy to clean...but I use whole hops which might make a big difference.

    Keg tool

I am not really qualified to comment, but I can't resist. 1) Beautiful welds/ work - I would buy from you if geographically feasible 2) when I had a weldor (ha) work on my keggles, I had him do his welds on the inside (he wasn't too psyched about this), because that is my understanding of a...
