Did I give my dog a yeast infection?!?

What kind of yeast? I always understood the most common form of fungal dermatitis is caused by Malassezia pachydermatis in dogs, and Saccharomyces is incapable of causing any such problems. But I'm no vet. So unless you're doing some kind of very funky wild fermentation, I don't think your...

    Zero yeast beer

OP, I'd have serious worries about spoilage if you go with your original plan and don't consume everything within a week or so. Not infection in the way we usually discuss, but spoilage. The thing that could give someone food poisoning and make them very ill.

Leave or remove first addition hops during whirlpool

Let me clarify then. Removing from the boil kettle at any point? Not saying you can't, but it'd be new to me.

Leave or remove first addition hops during whirlpool

Can't say I've ever heard of removing hops from the kettle before adding more. During dry hopping to prevent overextraction before another round? Sure. During the boil? Never.

Measuring alcohol percentage by freezing point?

That only seems to make sense if you assume your liquid has only water and alcohol in it. In some cases you may be able to assume this. In others, it would be a faulty assumption. For example, if you try to use this on a very sweet sack mead, the sugar itself would cause a change in the...

    No hop IPA

I was pretty confused by your subject! No *dry* hopping makes more sense. It has been done, and there are several approaches. I've had pretty good results from using large quantities of whirlpool hops. It's different, but still very good.

    Dumb question of the day

Campden will take care of chloramines for you. You can filter them out, but it's tougher to do than filter chlorine. I can't imagine the amount of either in any typical tap water will cause an issue if you add a tsp of tap water to a 5 gallon batch. That's just an incredibly tiny amount.

    Dumb question of the day

So you're concerned about the chlorine in the teaspoon of water that may remain in your vessel after sanitizing it?

    Northern Brewer closed?

They've been having some staffing issues. My last order was delayed in getting shipped, but they sent me a code for $10 off my next order. Not bad. My only beef was the lack of communication. If you have staffing issues, I get it, but give people a reasonable estimate of when stuff will...

    Oskar Blues "Q"

I saw this appear at in my area recently. I'll have to give it a try and see if it's worth using as inspiration for my usual lawnmower brews. Please do post if any of you seem to hit the mark well in terms of a clone.
