Nyrkki, I'm in the same boat as you. Honestly I think it'll be just fine without the "lagering" stage. Maybe not come out exactly like a Westy 12 but still an excellent beer.
Jamil's BDSA from Brewing Classic Styles that has won numerous awards doesn't include the lagering step. His beer...
Just home from a business trip to Chicago and stopped by Binny's Beverage Depot for the first time to stock up on beers I never get to try. Started off with a St Bernarus Pater 6 in a goblet that was in the sampler pack I bought. I'd give the beer a "B"; good, but not on par with others of...

Just tried - and admit, dumped - the Shafley Pumpkin Ale I just bought. It had awesome reviews on Beer Advocate but I just don't get it. WAY too much spice and it also tastes artificial. I have 5 left so I hope the wifey likes:)
Now enjoying a St Bernardus Prior 8. Good stuff, although not...
Hmm, I actually like that beer - maybe it was just skunked from sitting on the shelf too long. I think once it's uncorked you're screwed.
Where are you in Iowa? I ask because I was in a local HyVee (Davenport) yesterday and saw someone pick one of those up. Don't see them go very often!
