    This rope work well?

I use your standard jute twine for my first years, laced two ropes together now that the buds are showing, the 4 plants weigh around 60 pounds and have broken the twine twice. That looks like the cheapo rope you get from harbor freight, I'll probably be using that next year, wouldn't recommend...

Centennial, magnum, nugget, and cascade. The next picture is a bug I saw on my cascade and the next is what a hops plant looks like if a bine gets topped.

Hey you guys, long time no update. Everything is grow good, well besides me overfertilizing right before hot sunny days and burning the tips off the lower leaves. Bugs haven't been getting to them to bad, the Willamette seems to ward off all bug to the point they just fly on by and go to the...

So its been raining for days

I live in Oregon so I feel your pain. We have been get .2-.5 in a day for the last week and the next month isn't looking to promising. I planted my Rhizomes mid to late March, I felt like they were getting way to much water so I made little greenhouses/rainsheilds. They were really easy to make...

    New Hops Containers and Trellis

At least to the bottom of the box, it sounds like the roots will go everywhere within 2-3 years so if you feel like digging in a piece of plywood 1-4 foot into the ground it's up to you. I'm hoping I will be able to bines from right were I planted the Rhizomes and that will be the variety I...

    FRESHOPS Website

[email protected] was the email address I got when I ordered. 541 929 2736 this is the phone number I called and talked to them around a week and a half ago, I'd say give them a call and see what's up.

    FRESHOPS Website

Hey I ordered mine from freshhops on march 20th, and the arrived at my house by the 24. It is odd that there site is down, it looks like they are changing name and sites to me. http://www.oregontrailbrewery.com/ is what I come up with when I go to there home page.

Right on, sounds like a good mix. So your planning on planting one in the tall box and two in the long box? If so you should nail in a board in between the two plants so the roots can't get to intermixed. My plants at 3- 3 1/2 ft apart and I'm regretting not thinking of a way to keep the...

Are my pots too small for my first years?

The year old hops plants I found at my local nursery were in pots this size when I bought them. When I wanted them in the ground I found that the where terribly root bound. They would probably be a little happier in something bigger, Fred Meyers sells large 10 gallon pots for 5 bucks a piece.

They are going to make a beautiful gateway to your back yard! What varieties did you get?

    Damaged Rhizome

They might, they are a pretty tough little plant, if it was me I would call up whoever you ordered from and have them send you some new ones. My magnum and teamaker I had ordered from freshhops this year where pretty banged up, all buds knocked off and many main roots beaten off like a stubborn...

Next up are the nugget next to my garden, 2 cascade in garden, 3 nugget in garden, 4 centennial. The magnum just had a bud shoot up and the teamaker is still making a comeback.

1st timer with some questions about raised boxes and trellis

Mine are 2x2 - 2 for the box, and 8 foot tall with an 8 foot wingspan. I can't atone for how well they work yet because it's my first year.

Today I dug up my teamaker and swapped it out for a Willamette, just for the fact the Willamette had some tried and true good brewing qualities and the tea maker was more for ****s and giggles. Hmmm now where to put this guy. Now after watching the buds break the surface and watching how far...
