Funny things you've overheard about beer

I ordered the Dos Equis, and it wasn't even the amber, it was the lager.

Funny things you've overheard about beer

I was at a bar last night and the beer menu is pretty sparse but says it has Avery's Ellie's Brown Ale on tap. I ask the waitress for that and she says, "We are out of that one, but we have Dos Equis!"

    sad day indeed

Was the yeast old? That could have caused the issue, and dry yeast should always be rehydrated before pitching. Yeast will generally help keep other nasties from growing, so the beer likely would have been fine if the yeast had been good. I do want to point out that there are very few things...

    Irish moss part 2

I use Irish moss in most of the beers I brew that should be clear. I rarely cold crash, and usually have very clear beer. So no I don't believe you have to cold crash for Irish moss to clear your beer.

    Favorite Morning Beer.

Back when I worked nights, there was nothing better than sitting on my front porch drinking a nice wit and smoking a cigarette while my neighbors looked at me funny.

    Tequila in Vienna Lager

I never got any reply, but I am planning on making a tequila Vienna lager early next year. I plan on adding the tequila to the bottling bucket. I haven't yet decided how much to add.

    Tequila in Vienna Lager

I recently made a Vienna lager, having run out of cheap vodka I used tequila in my air lock. I am a habitual airlock sniffer, and the smell of the tequila mixed with the beer smell was very nice. I also drank the tequila from the airlock after I racked it for lagering, and it was very tasty (why...

What's the worst craft brew (commercial) you've had?

The one terrible beer I remember trying a long time ago was from the Tabernash Brewery in Denver was their weiss. I remember it tasting like dumpster juice. Truly terrible.

    Mead at Altitude

I plan on brewing my first batch of mead very soon, and I have a question. I plan on bottling in wine bottles with corks. I live at 8500ft, and I was wondering if I bottle at 8500ft and bring it down to sea level is there a possibility that the pressure in the bottle will be enough lower than...

    Downtown Denver?

The Falling Rock Tap House has an excellent variety of beers on tap. It is near Coors Field and worth the trip.
