    My Wedding Jockey Box Build

Hey! Sorry about the delayed response. I got the couplings from Kegworks. I went and looked on their site, but it appears they are no longer available. They were 7/8", as was the faucet shank. I believe they are just chrome plated. They were only $14. Hope that helps!

    My Wedding Jockey Box Build

Thanks! Congrats on your wedding! I am pretty stoked for the big day myself. Thanks for the advice on volumes. We are getting married at a vineyard, and will be serving wine and beer. We are planning on having about 150 guests. I was already thinking of just bringing 20 gal of homebrew and a...

    My Wedding Jockey Box Build

I did use a water and ice mixture. I only used two bags of ice and I had to add a lot of water to cover the coils. I think I will use more ice next time. Any suggestion on the ice to water ratio?

    My Wedding Jockey Box Build

It's working pretty well. I tested it with a warm and cool keg. The cool keg worked better, but the warm one wasn't too bad at the rate I was pouring. I did notice that it took a couple pours to settle in after adjusting the psi. I found that around 30 psi the beers were pouring great! The...

    My Wedding Jockey Box Build

For my upcoming wedding we will be serving about 20-30 gallons of homebrew. I wanted a way to serve the beer in a professional and simple manner. I decided a jockey box would be the way to go. I spent weeks/months researching this project. I want to thank all of those before me that took the...

Vintage Coleman Cooler Jockey box conversion

Thanks Fall-Line! I appreciate the advice. I think I'm going with 50' coils and I'm going to plan on keeping the kegs chilled.

Vintage Coleman Cooler Jockey box conversion

Fall-line, great build! I am planning a similar project for my wedding in June. I obtained the vintage coleman cooler already. I am now debating between coils or a cold plate. I have been leaning towards coils, because I hear they are better for consistent pouring. However, I hear that you need...

Wedding Brew - keg or bottles?

Thanks! I thought about bottles, but it sounds like so much work! Also, I am much more familiar with kegging. So I feel more confident that I can dial in the desired CO2 level with kegs. With that said, I may play around a bit with bottling from the keg... But I'm still leaning towards the...

Wedding Brew - keg or bottles?

So I've been researching jockey boxes and I have a couple questions: 5/16" or 3/8" coils? (I think 5/16 is the better for cooling, but 3/8" =less CO2) 50ft coils or 70ft coils? Best way to prevent foamy pours? (Ice the kegs, higher pressure, etc.) Best place to buy the coils? (NYbrewsupply...

Wedding Brew - keg or bottles?

We did something similar last summer. Two kegs in ice, with cobra taps. We used the portable charger for CO2. I'm not sure of all the reasons why, but we couldn't get a consisten good pour. It was pretty foamy and a lot of beer was wasted. Also, I had to tinker with it a bunch. So be warned that...

Wedding Brew - keg or bottles?

Thanks for the replies. I'm thinking the jockey box is the way I will go. I pitched it to the fiancé and she's for it. So we will be building one. Any tips for building one or using one?

    The White Tornado Wit

dcott, I've been looking at a lot of Wit recipes, and I'm getting a little discouraged. I'm not too confident about doing all the different rests. Would you say that the separate mash and rests are a necessity for this beer? Or could I get a similar result using flaked wheat?

    Keg Force Carbing Methods Illustrated

Thanks for the info. That makes sense. I have 8 foot lines. Could I compensate by lowering my temperature? Also, I don't have a fan in my keezer to circulate the air. Could this help?
