I patterned my aerator after the NB bubbler kit, which doesn't come with a regulator. Just bubbler/filter/stone. I'm thinking that my bubbler is way too weak to force air through this stone, but tell me if your stone got a little rusty, and if that was a concern and how you dried it.

I am trying to aerate right now with Northern Brewers 2 micron aeration stone. I sanitized the stone (by boiling) on the last batch but didn't end up using it because I didn't have the right size tubing. Now that I do have the right tubing the stone looks a little rusty and doesn't seem to make...

I helped a friend brew the regular Kolsch. I haven't tried the finished product yet, but the yeast supplied with the kit is pretty stinky. He called NB to ask, and they said that the yeast supplied is supposed to be stinky like that.

Thanks for the welcomes. Raised in Rapid City, live in Sioux Falls now. I am doing Northern Brewer's St. Paul Porter right now (one week in the primary fermenter so far). Don't have any favorites really - try something new is my motto. I will now continue to lurk and learn.
