Same Beer, different taste (bottled and kegged)

Two months ago I brewed a 2-hearted clone. I kegged 5-gallons and had enough left over for three bottles. Good for a side-by-side comparison. Fast forward....well....two months. Having tried both they seem like two completely different beers. The bottled maintained a much more pronounced hop...

    Help with parts for stirplate

Howdy, I just came into a couple of internal fans that were once used on an old architecture plotter, so it's time to build a stir plate. These are a bit bigger and more powerful than standard computer fans that I am accustomed to seeing. I am unsure of the size of the rocker and...

Wort trub stained wood floor. How to get out?

If it's just in the sealer then lightly sand it out and try to touch up the best you can with a like sealer. If it's all the way to the wood, then that's another story.

    Me mead...she's not clearing

Back last December I decided to try my hand at making a few meads. At that time I made four at once all using the same brand of honey and yeast - three of which had various concoctions of fruit and whatnot. Then there was the one that was a standard 1 gallon batch (honey, water, yeast...that's...

    lets see your full Fermenters

Making an IPA based on one of Yooper's recipes. It's ripping along on 1450. First try with harvested yeast from a batch I did a couple weeks ago and it seems to be working swimmingly. Can't wait to get this one kegged.

    Wood for bar build

Wood veneer is stable and less likely to warp than a similar solid wood piece. Because wood veneer is glued to a stable substrate such as particle board , MDF or plywood, it doesn’t warp or split like solid wood can. It's a common practice to use it on cabinets, furniture, etc. Cheaper...

    Black dry erase paint

I'll just throw out something that I do that works well for me. I took a scrap piece of 1/4" wood that I had laying around, painted it black and covered that with a pane of glass, framed it all out and made it look nice. I use regular fluorescent markers and it works like a charm - marker...

Can't explain this leak in my kegging system

I found the culprit. A brass elbow that I use to transition from the outside of my fridge to the inside had a hairline crack. Strange since I had not a problem for quite some time, then all of a sudden it's an issue. Must have banged something against it at some point and not even realized it...

Can't explain this leak in my kegging system

No one. The kegs are still full. Just looks like a failure somewhere in the setup that I need to fix.

Can't explain this leak in my kegging system

Typo...nevertheless, the tank is empty, done, kaput, nada, nill, zilch. Boo hoo!

Can't explain this leak in my kegging system

I usually do the same, but forgot this time. Just stunned that it happened since I have had no problems with leaks since I last filled this keg and have two on it now that were leak free. Back to the drawing board. Thanks all for the input.

Can't explain this leak in my kegging system

Lost 31 lbs of CO2 while on a 16 day vacation. Prior to that I had my system set up perfectly and gone through about 4-5 kegs with no issues at all. I took regular weighings and other checks to be sure I had no leaks. Then, I go on a 16 day vacation and out of the blue...kaput! Tanks is empty...
