I made a Czech pils a couple weeks ago that used a quarter pound of hobby malt and it's definitely noticeable. I would at least reduce it to half a pound.

.5 pound carafa special
.75 pound terrified wheat
.5 pound oats
Then added 7.5 punds wheat lme.
1 oz crystal hops at 60 (2.5 %)
.25 citra at 60 (12.3%)
.25 citra at 40 (12.3 %)
1 oz bitter orange at 4
.75 oz coriander at 4

My "HWMBO" wasn't a beer drinker before I met him, but he sure as heck is a lot more knowledgeable now. He still prefers wine over a hoppy beer, but in general he's very supportive and more importantly, he helps me clean up ;)
