Sounds good to me, I'll stick with the 1-2-3 rule. I did get the 3068 yeast.
I might make another batch on Friday. I do have half a pound of rice hulls to use up. Wouldn't want to waste anything! :D
I just brewed this beer this weekend. It was easy to make, just had some minor hiccups but I'm a beginning brewer. I just have some simple questions.
1. What is crash cooling? I guess I'm supposed to put this in the fridge? I don't have any way of doing that. Can I accomplish this...
I've just started AG. I've done 2 so far. I did do the Centennial Blonde also. It's in the secondary, ready to bottle.
My first was Ed Wort's Haus Ale. It's another simple recipe which is supposed to taste great. Mine's bottled. I'm saving it for a family party next week.
I 2nd that. For 50-60 bucks you can buy a immersion chiller. It makes cooling sooo easy. I just pop the sucker in with 15 minutes left to boil. When the boil is done, connect the garden hose. Turn it on, and that's it.
I'm a newbie brewer (6 batches under my belt) and I really need to...
Yeah, I'm a dope and didn't think this through :). Right after I posted, I went outside to see if my drill could even take a bit that large. That's when the hole saw hit me, or actually my spade bits. I guess I'm a little hyper about brewing my first all grain.
I still need to find some...
I just got this cooler today, and am trying to figure out how big to drill the hole. I am following this guide and bought most of the parts listed. I am just having some problems finding the stainless steel washers. I also noticed that I do not have the drill bit big enough to drill. S...
This happened to me also. I had a small bottle of Star San and hid the mark with a bottle of soap. So far SWMBO hasn't said anything.
If you come up with that fix, let me know.
I got this kit from Midwest Supplies and I really like it. It's the same as the one you posted but with 2 5 Gallon better bottle carboys. This way you can have one batch in a primary fermenter and 2 in a secondary fermenters. Good for a constant beer supply! Plus, it's only 109.95

The autosiphon is great. It's so easy to use. The only problem is that I never get to use it. My 4 year old loves it. Siphoning is now his job.
If you don't have the autosiphon, get it.
Well I just started brewing again after taking several years off. My first brew is an American Amber Ale that my LHBS put together. I just bottled it last night. It was definitely a learning experience. I made a lot of mistakes, but despite that it still tastes great! :mug: I just bottled...
Yeah, the auto siphon is great. If you don't have one, get one. I just used it the other day, it's so simple. Stick it in and pump a few times. Then let it go. My 4 year wanted to help make beer, so I let him do it.
