I don't know how many brews I've put on it. But it's holding up like a champ and and don't foresee any issues with it outlasting me. Every other brew or so I check the nuts/bolts for tightness, and occasionally I have to wrench on some of them.

Don't buy at the big box stores, it's about half the price ordering from McMaster Carr, even with shipping. I cut mine with an $18 angle grinder that I picked up at Harbor Freight.

I'm putting a whirlpool and side pickup on my boil kettle right now. Two of them, separate. If you use the 'main drain' for whirlpooling, where would you draw from to feed the pump? Also replacing my old bazooka T which sat in the middle of the boil kettle (side pickup mentioned above). This...

Other pages and posts that I've seen on these seem to indicate that a lot of silicone work is needed to make them air tight. Do all of these tanks require that, or is there a particular type that is air tight 'out of the box'?

I eventually want to have a RIMS system as well. Any information (or links) you could share on the control panel and the heating element would be greatly appreciated. I'm not sure, but that HE appears to be made from sanke keg parts? Very cool. How do I do that?
