    Tepache!

I just tasted some after i filtered it and cooled it in the fridge. its definitely has some tartness to it. I can clearly taste pineapple. It almost has a white wine like flavor. I did not carbonate mine

    Tepache!

Haha whatever works I guess. To be honest, I will prolly do the same thing. I just tasted some of the Tepache. It has only been 5 days so of course its still pretty sweet but I didn't notice any sour taste yet. I will post back later down the road too.

    Tepache!

I made some a few days ago. It is bubbling away in a gallon jug. What have you guys been using to filter it?

    Lemonade Beer Mix: Help Wanted

I bottled a few bottles of half lemonade and half hefe for my buddy off of my tap. I filled the bottle halfway with lemonade then topped it off with kegged hefe. Gave him a six pack or so. Well buddy decided to leave the six pack on his counter during spring break and ended up having a few of...

    The full Monti

Hell yea man! This is looking great. I hope everything turns out great. I am gonna keep checking this out. By the way, the couplers you welded for me are working great, I checked the inside of one and they are still looking good. Thanks again and good luck on this new project.

    Gas Plumbing for Single Tier

From a hose supply store. I looked up hose supply or something similar in the yellow pages and gave them a call. I told them the length I wanted and they had it ready in about 30 mins

    McMaster Quick Disconnects

No, not really. Most people have been using the combination for a while. Here is a detailed table of the galvanic series. Yellow brass and stainless steel are essentially right next to each other.

    Water Modification Videos, TH's Spreadsheet

Awwww alright, the lightbulb just lit up. That makes a lot more sense. Great job explaining. And thanks -TH- and Kal for the sulfate brush up. I hope all your batches come out great, Kal.

Hey Kal, I just noticed your little notes below your sulfate about 50-150 being normally bitter and up to 350 being really bitter. How's that range working for you? I forget if I have read about that in Palmer or not.

    Gas Plumbing for Single Tier

I went to home depot to find the fittings for my build. To connect the propane tank to my black pipe, I used a 1/2" male pipe thread to 3/8" flare fitting. The MPT screws into a coupler on the black pipe, and the flare fitting gets the propane hose screwed on to it. Then, for the ball valves...

    Water Modification Videos, TH's Spreadsheet

I guess I'm not so much asking for help with the salt additions (although I definitely would love some help, which is while I'll go ahead and post them below) as much as I'm trying to ask a more general question of the effects of adding salts to the boil. Originally, I was just going to follow...

    Water Modification Videos, TH's Spreadsheet

But is there any thing wrong with adding them to the boil? I'm doing my first salt addition on my next batch and I'm trying to keep sane by trying to keep things simple the first time. I guess my question restated would be: Are there any negative effects of boiling chalk and/or baking soda...
