I can tell you that it took me quite a while before I was making beer that I would serve to friends. I probably brewed for close to a year before I was making beer I was comfortable sharing.
My neighbor, who used to live up that way keeps telling me to go to Shangy's. I may give it a go now.
+1000 on the thanks for the help too. My neighborhood was very fortunate to come through relatively unscathed, but I have friends and family who are still without power tonight.
Oh, and I...
I just bought a set of glasses from amazon for $20. It's a six glass set made by Libbey. I had some more expensive glasses before but they all broke. These actually seem less fragile than the more expensive glasses.

Yeah, you definitely ruined it. Too bad. Just kidding.:tank: Most of the sanitizers are "no rinse" solutions. If a little sanitizer gets in your wort it won't hurt anything.
I had a porcelain pot and it was chipped after the first use, so I don't think a new one will last a long time. I would stick with the aluminum or find a SS pot.
Double Bag is one of my favorites! Unfortunately, I'm not really able to critique your recipe, but I'd love to know if it turns out anything like Double Bag. If it does I'll be giving this recipe a go too!:mug:
