    Lots of problems brewing today.

I bottled it today and the FG was only 1.020 so I'm guessing it's around 4%. Tasted pretty good from the bottling bucket. I'll hope for the best I guess.

    Lots of problems brewing today.

I figured. Was just seeing if there was anything else I could do besides wait. Yeah I'm gonna get a turkey fryer and do full a full boil next time. Good to know. Thanks. And also good to know. Thanks guys

    Lots of problems brewing today.

Update So after 9 days of fermenting, I figured I'd taste it and see how it's progressing. Good news: It's not horrible and that burnt taste went away. It's got a nice chocolatey flavor. Bad news: It's still watery and feels thin. And it's at 4% right now. I was shooting for 5-6% ABV. Do you...

    Lots of problems brewing today.

I have plans to get a turkey fryer, a propane burner so I can brew outside, and switch to all grain but this was my last extract batch before I graduated and moved back to GA. Also there are some burn marks on my brew pot that won't come out. I hope they won't affect the beer. I sprayed it...

    Lots of problems brewing today.

This is my 3rd batch. It was an extract milk stout. I had 5-6 lbs of DME and last time I had problems getting 3 gallons of water to boil without putting the lid on so this time I just used 2 gallons. 1. It seemed like all the grains I steeped were not getting in all of the water since I only...

2 problems with my 2nd batch

I had some grains that I steeped for 30 minutes, then boiled for an hour. That's it.

2 problems with my 2nd batch

OK Yeah it happened right when I started to chill it. Also, my wort is really dark and murky. When I tried to take the OG, I couldn't even see through it. Is that a problem?

2 problems with my 2nd batch

Hey guys long time no post. My 1st beer came out alright but I realized I ordered an English-style IPA instead of an American IPA but it carbonated and lots of people liked it. Thanks for all your help on that batch. Anyways, just brewed an all galaxy hop IPA (extract) and came up with 2...

    Bottling Wednesday

I did it using just the tubing but I started getting some sludge so I stopped and lifted the tube, but when I tried to start over I couldn't get it to siphon, then my arm got in beer, then the sludge on the sides fell in, so I just gave up and lost almost a gallon, but I still got 44 bottles of...

    Bottling Wednesday

Oh I will. I also need to get a lot more stuff next time for my 2nd batch but I'm just ready to get this 1st one in the bottle.

    Bottling Wednesday

This is what I will do. Just tested it and it worked. Thanks guys.

    Bottling Wednesday

I understand that would help, but is there any way I can do it with just the equipment I have now? I don't really have time.

    Bottling Wednesday

To clarify, this is the only type of tubing I have, plus the spigot. I don't see how I can get it flowing from the top with only this tubing.

    Bottling Wednesday

How can I siphon from the top without a racking cane? I seriously only have 2 long tubes and a spigot. That's it.

    Bottling Wednesday

I'm bottling for the first time on Wednesday and just realized my kit did not come with a racking cane. All I have is tubing and a spigot on my fermenter and bottling bucket. How can I siphon into the bottling bucket without getting the yeast layer on the bottom? Also, do I need to...
