Lets talk hops and where you source them

Been buying in bulk from yakimavalleyhops.com for a while now. They've got pretty decent prices, and have been constantly improving their packaging methods etc.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Heating mash water for an ESB, trying out target hops after some promising initial results in an english brown.

What can I do with these grains?

cascadian dark? though the above suggestion for a mild is also a good one

    Imperial Amber

I'd move the flavor hops to a later timeframe for a more prominent aroma, I've been partial to the 5 and 1 minute additions recently.

Am I going to be too bitter?

I would ditch the 15 minute additions and increase the 5 and 0 minute additions (half ounce of each hop variety in each of those additions at least). I've basically done away with middle boil additions lately and think it really showcases the hop aroma/flavor well.

Can Anyone Decipher the Volume Here?

I'd guess approx 50 gallons (off a quick back of the envelope guess...)

    What malt to use

The majority of these crystal-based suggestions are to prevent an overly sweet/high finishing gravity, most often applied to ipa's, as was mentioned before, too much crystal is pretty apparent in an ipa (that is if you are like me and like em bone dry)

    Orange beer?

I've achieved orange-esque color with crystal 45l, I think the key is to strive for very bright final product, for me this is plentiful recirculation in the mash and a healthy dose of irish moss in the boil as well as cold crashing before kegging

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Thinking about firing the kettle and doing a honey blonde, might also get ambitious and do a golden strong or a hoppy steam style beer.

    Citrusy Pale Ale

Typically helps to keep F.G. low, I'm partial to it in IPA's, though have certainly found it appealing in pale ale's (though in this case seems counter intuitive to add both simple sugars and wheat)

    Grounding E-Kettle

I think I've got it figured, going to drill a hole in the kettle adjacent the element and use a stainless bolt and a rubber seal instead.

    Grounding E-Kettle

I searched and found some ideas, but was hoping someone with more knowhow than myself could tell me if this is a good/bad idea. I'm moving from a keggle to 10 gallon stainless kettles for space reasons and need to ground my elements, is it possible that I could JB weld a small screw to the...

    2 loop 120v build

Awesome to see someone else running a similar rig (almost exactly the same) How long does it take for you to get to boil in a 10 gallon batch? I've been curious to try for a while but havent had the time lately.

    2 loop 120v build

I havent noticed a need to kill other items in the room (routinely also run a laptop and other stuff while brewing) though I never used anything very significant. One of the biggest selling points for me was the GFCI breakers, I got mine for about 11 bucks each, vs 120+ dollars for the 240V...
