sounds great guys. I'll be doing 5 gallon batches for a while....I'll just have to deal with my girlfriend yelling about the smell...Maybe I'll invest in a better fan.
May some like a dumb question, but have any of you experimented with different brands of filtered water to use in your beer? Any observations about what different brands do as far as flavor goes?
I've heard that most people go with a propane burner, but I'm wondering if brewing is possible on a stovetop gas burner. Does it just take longer? I'm limited with my options as far as brewing outside because I live in an apartment building.
Any advice?

I've only brewed once (up in Seattle) but I'm putting together my first brew kit for down in LA. I think I'm going to be going to be going with Better Bottles. The only time I've brewed I used glass, and the weight made it difficult to do on my own.
Any newbie advice?
