I started home brewing in 1994. Me and a friend dubbed the nickname of ours "Black Raven Home Brew".....got the idea looking at the art on the Gratetful Dead's Wake of the Flood album. We were consuming some Russian Imperial Stout at the time and well......we were sort of tuned.

I dig Nut Brown Ale; it's a favorite for me. Wise Ass Red Bitter was the first brew we kegged back then, and we put some folks in their place with it.

I enjoy making my own things. I have a serious passion for Handcrafting Bamboo Fly Rods; I make them from scratch and it's a side line at this time; but it's fun to make something that will out live me and provide joy to others. Sort of an extension of my life; when I am gone, I live on through my work. I enjoy an occasional break in the action to make some home brew or carve a smoking pipe from fine Briar.

My rod company name is Pocono Mountain Rods.
