    The biggest reason I want to rack it into my carboy is then I can start another recipe in primary. sorry to those people who feel I wasted their time, but you're the ones who clicked the thread.

    I have an Irish Red Ale in primary that I did on friday night, the airlock has been bubbling like crazy, but has really slown down. the instructions say 5-7 days before racking to secondary, would it be crazy to rack it now?

    I am assuming most on here are familiar with Midwest Supplies in Minneapolis. I am wondering what a solid, middle of the road beer (no pun intended) ingredient kit would be? I would like to do an ale, I don't have the equipment to lager right now. Any advice appreciated.

    Is it wrong that I want a glass carboy for "the mad scientist" look? From what I see flavor impact is not really an issue from container to container. Thanks for all the help!

    Ok, a couple questions about secondary. A glass bottle vs a plastic "better bottle" pros and cons? Also, what are the pros/cons of just using a primary vs transferring to a glass carboy secondary?

    I really didn't mean to start anything on here, and it really is pretty cool how civil everyone has been. I don't see that on any of my other message boards. I didn't mean to elevate AG to being superior to extract. Good beer is good beer is good beer. But I honestly feel like I'm baking bread...

    Just bottled my first beer!

    I know, I'm bad. But the intructions say 1-3 weeks. is 3 weeks pretty much mandatory for any brew? As far as the 1 week of cold aging, this is the first I am ever hearing of it. Could someone elaborate on this please?
