    When to rack after diacetyl rest?

    I'm brewing my first lager in ages, an Oktoberfest. After my diacetyl rest do I rack into the secondary while it's still about 60 degrees or chill it down and then rack into the secondary. I'm guessing I'll get less yeast into the secondary if I chill it down to 34F or so. Does it matter?

    fermentation pooped out early. Should I do anything?

    I brewed an APA and a dry stout a week ago. One of my starters smelled funky so I split the other starter amongst both batches. The room in my basement where I ferment is also a bit cool, about 64 degrees. I'm thinking that due to under-pitching and the low fermentation temp are the...
