Inkbird makes a much better digital contoler, Its a stc-100 but with C or f. Makes a world of difference if you think in F like me.

@Jcruse your calculations may be off due to three factors, did you calculate using whole leaf or pellets, what was the harvest AA% and what IBU scale are u using Tinseth or Rager?

With boiling the honey you boil off any flavor and are basically just add sugar.. at $3 a lb. I would recommend partially cooling and mixing in the honey post boil, allowing time to kill the natural yeasts, much like making a mead.

I just burnt a hole in one of wilserbrewers bags this weekend using a 1800w induction burner. :( Luckily its right near the stitching so i can just shorten the bag and remove the burnt parts. Looks like I'm in the market for a bag protector.

While reduced volume may shorten your brew day, increased BTU will do the same. My HLT has 9000w of elements, this brings my water to strike temp in a fraction of the time compared to most propane burners. It takes about 12 min for 12-14 gal to get from room to strike temp if i recall correctly...
