ISO Rye Brown Recipe (Extract/Partial Mash)

So, I've been wanting to whoop up a good Rye Brown Ale. Two of my local breweries have one and they are both fantastic. Trim Tab Pillar to Post is my favorite but they are a small local brewery (Birmingham,AL) so I couldnt find a clone...

Help with a Honey Brown Ale Recipe

Sorry, I havent been around much. My batch turned out fantastic. It tasted almost identical to Truck Stop Honey but was a shade darker in color. It was really good about 8 weeks in the bottle. I actually had one this weekend and it is still pretty damned good.

    Froze some S-05

So, since it seems I never get to brew when I plan on it, Ive been keeping my hops in the freezer. I already keep my opened ones there so I just started tossing them all in. Somehow when I looked in the bag today, it had a package of Safale 05 in it. So its been in there about a week. Will...

    Peanut Butter Chocolate Stout Recipe

Terrapin Liquid Bliss is the best Chocolate PB beer I have found. They call it a porter but I have seen them be very responsive to homebrewers before. may be worth a shot to send them an email. Here is what info is on their site

    1st brew issues

It actually looks to me like you under primed.... I just brewed a Honey Brown Ale that I primed with honey. I think I added 4.5oz of honey for a 2.3 Co2 volume for a 5g batch @ 68F The source I just googled says 3TBS of honey should weigh about 2.4oz What yeast did you use? I used S-05...

    Steeping Question

So far I have seen 2 different methods of getting the steep in on extract brews. I have been hitting 150f, then steeping the grains for 30min, while watching the thermometer and keeping it 150-160 This has worked out well so far but lately I have also seen some recipes that just call for...

    Dunkelweizen Critique/Advice?

Well, I just put my last 6 in the fridge and I'm drinking one now! IT absolutely got better and I would say it is peaked about right now. I'll definitely be brewing the recipe again and don't really know how I would go about improving it any.

    Moo-Hoo Clone

BTW, 8oz of nibs soaks up a lot of vodka lol. I ended up with an ABV of 6.8 which is a pretty big over shoot for the Moo-Hoo. Dunno if it was vodka, or a mistep in the recipe. I'm totally ok with having a big, yummy, chocolate stout though

    Moo-Hoo Clone

Well, mine has only been in the bottle about 2 weeks. As a chocolate stout, it is REALLY damned good! Even this new and I'm sure it will be better. As a Moo-Hoo though, I dunno. I'm going to track some down and do a comparison after a couple more weeks but I agree. It doesnt quite seem to have...
