    Mark's carboy/keg washer

I have had mine for close to 2 years and it’s still works like the day I bought it. I also use mine to circulate ice water through my IWC when chilling lagers, so it’s seen it’s fair share of run-time. $50 is a great deal and I recommend snapping this deal up if you are considering buying one.

American Porter Edmund Fitzgerald Porter Clone

I decided to add vanilla bean extract (homemade using vodka and 2 beans) during bottling. I bottled 1/2 the batch with the vanilla and 1/2 without it. Both were really good; I am not sure which is better because the reviews were almost split 50/50. I think those that aren't porter drinkers...

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

I brewed this and let it bottle condition for 13 days before I tried it. It was still a little syrupy and a bit under-carbonated. I let it sit for another full week and what a difference. 20 days in the bottle and it was perfect. The recipe is really good; haven't had the real ZD, but this is a...

    Fruit Beer Lemon-Lime Hefe Weizen

Has anyone ever tasted banana in their LLH? :ban: I have been drinking this for a few days now, and I believe I am getting some banana in the finish. Its possible I pitched a little too warm; I had a hard time cooling it in the hot SoCal summer heat and it may have fermented in the low/mid 70's...

    Fruit Beer Lemon-Lime Hefe Weizen

Just had my 1st taste on Sat (7/6). The aroma was super citrusy and bright. The taste was definitely lime...you can certainly taste the limeade. Looking forward to when the lemon starts to shine a little brighter (hopefully it does). Overall, its a darn good beer. Its in a class on its own...

    Fruit Beer Lemon-Lime Hefe Weizen

Brewed this on Memorial Day using the exact recipe. Pitched the yeast and had decent activity about 20 hrs later. The krausen hasn't reached the blow off tube yet, but I've yet to add the Simply Lime. Fermenting at 64F....

Need a good yeast substitution suggestion

I just brewed up a pumpkin ale using WLP041 (Pacific Ale Yeast). It supposed to leave behind a lot of maltyness. 10% is pretty big; typically big beers are malty and have a full body. You certainly can't go wrong with WLP002, or possibly WLP051.

    Autumn Seasonal Beer Punkin' Ale

Refractometers can work in the presence of alcohol, but you need to input the values into a formula for the correction factor. The formula is quite long, but lucky for us, there are websites that will calculate the numbers for you. All you need is to input your starting/ending Brix and hit...

    Autumn Seasonal Beer Punkin' Ale

Brewed this up last weekend using First Gold hops (hopefully to compliment the spices) and 1200ml starter of WLP041 for some extra malt flavor. Hit the OG dead nuts and blow off showed activity within 5 hours of pitching. I used about 1/3lb of rice hulls in the mash and didn't have any problems...

American Wheat Beer Summer Citrus Wheat

I brewed this one last week. I overshot my target OG by several points (1.064). My last batch was pretty low efficiency, so I adjusted my grain bill to account for this. I guess I am starting to figure out my new system because my efficiency was 80%. I pitched WLP001; starting fermenting at 63...
