All,
I have used this brau supply controller for what has to be 5 years now with no issue. It is a 30amp controller running a pump and a 5500 w element. Yesterday I smelled an acetone smell coming from the controller. When I took it apart today this is what I saw. Is this salvageable or should...
For a 6 gallon batch I have about 10 gallons of water for a mash. Approximately 8 of that is in the basket with the grain while recirculating. This is with a grain bill of 15lbs. 5.5 goes into the fermenter.
I did brew last Monday with the SS manifold and whirlpool arm. Ss manifold worked great. Kept opening the valve gradually and in about 10 to 15 minutes it was wide open and the grain bed was set and filtering. Efficiencies increased a couple of gravity points but nothing extreme. Whirlpool arm...
It was the wiring. For some reason auber had the temp probe as the white wire going to 2 instead of three. Even though the auber controller specifically says white wire on three. Thanks for the help. Maybe I can brew tomorrow now!
I don't have an ohmmeter but I have another auber temp sensor that came with my kettle and it didn't work as well. Seems unlikely I would have two faulty temp sensors.
Guys,
Got a new 8" auber RTD temp sensor. I have a brau supply single vessel 240 controller that I got last year. Works fine with the temp sensor provided. But with new 8" probe it registers HH on my controller. Any ideas? I messaged brau supply but thought I would see if you guys had any ideas.
Converted my sight glass into a temp probe/sight glass and used the extra spot for the whirlpool arm. Also got the SSbrewsupply manifold. Hopefully this helps with efficiency as you guys have experienced. Better yet with consistency. We will see. Just glad to get rid of the recirculating arm...
