First time cider - bottle conditioning/carbonation process

Here's my lazy man 1 gallon cider carb/sweeten hack is this: After fermenting to dry (sometimes I don't even measure...I just forget it for a month or so), I then rack the cider into the bottling vessel and add 1 thawed (to room temp) can of apple juice concentrate. Then I bottle them into PET...

    Adding in concentrated fruit juice?

So I just do 1 gallon batches, but I added 1 can of concentrate at bottling and it rocked.

    Using Two Bottling Buckets

I can't believe I left everyone hanging. Been a couple years. Better late than never, eh? My process worked. Racked from one bottling bucket to another without a siphon. Trub wasn't a problem, but the position of the spigot did leave a bit behind. That said, after brewing a few more beers...

Opportunity to brew at a local brewery

Well as it's not official yet I'd hate to throw it out there in public. It's not Boulevard 😂

Opportunity to brew at a local brewery

Twinsies! You're obviously a man of distinguished taste. Man that sucks. Hope things get rolling soon. Still no details yet, but whether I get to do my own recipe or just work with one of theirs, I don't care. Same here, excited for the chance.

Opportunity to brew at a local brewery

Nothing official yet, but I might have an opportunity to brew at a local brewery on their 30 gal system which would be served in their taproom. I've only brewed 5 gallon batches from kits (all grain) and had only just begun to think about creating my own recipes, and wham, this opportunity...

    Gushers?

Just wanted to follow up. I had zero gushers. Far from it. It probably could have been carbed a bit more. Were I to do it again, I might have left the bottles out of the fridge for a couple more days. I might even go 1 and 1/2 can of ajc next time...

    Gushers?

Think I should be worried about bottle bombs even if they're in the fridge?

    Gushers?

Ok here's what I did: -1 gallon fermented for 3 weeks (I didn't measure OG) -1 can apple juice concentrate added to bottling jug -racked 1 gal to bottling jug -bottled almost six 16oz plastic bottles -left out on counter for around 3 days until bottles were firm, slight give to the squeeze -put...

    Fermenting just 1 Quart

I received just one quart of fresh pressed apple/pear juice. I don't have any adequate fermenters, certainly none that any of my airlocks will fit. The smallest fermenter I have is a gallon, which would leave a ton of headspace. Beyond that, how much (dry cider) yeast would you use for just...

    Trellis Designs?

I went ahead and installed an eyebolt into the eaves, planted a hefty stake, tied the twine to either end, and my hops bine is about a foot or more off the ground. My first time growing hops. Pretty fun. I was told to 'train' the bine around the string, so once it was just tall enough to reach...

    Trellis Designs?

This thread was pretty interesting and full of great ideas. I think I'm going to install and eyebolt into the eaves of my house and tie some twine to it. Easy peasy.

    Hobbit Brew?

What a fantastic thread. I spent the morning reading it all. Thought some folks would be interested in a couple of these tidbits: This letter Tolkien wrote to his son regarding C.S. Lewis. (I have a feeling hobbit consumption might have had a tad bit of influence from Lewis and Tolkien's...

    Using Two Bottling Buckets

So I pitched my plan to the fellow at my local Homebrew store and he was...hesitant. Based on what I told him, he assumed my autosiphon has a crack somewhere (I looked it over again when I got home but couldn't find anything). But I stuck to my guns for better or for worse and got a second...
