adding a butterfinger to a milk stout?

Sorry for the year+ delay in responding, my memory is fuzzy but I used roughly 300-400ml of vodka last time. I'm revisiting this recipe and this time I added 2 ounces of dark cocoa powder (last time I added about 4oz). I'm going to use 6 butterfinger bars when I make the butterfinger vodka...

adding a butterfinger to a milk stout?

Well this was my first and only stout I've ever done but it turned out fine, however the butterfinger flavor was overpowered by the cocoa flavor. You could taste it a little bit but it wasn't very pronounced. If I did it again I might use a little less cocoa powder (3-4oz instead of 5-6) and I'd...

How long to dry hop with fresh hops?

Yeh next time I'll keep that in mind, I just didn't give it any thought at the time. Thanks for the quick replys.

How long to dry hop with fresh hops?

Yeh I left them out at room temperature out of laziness, plus I had no immediate need for only 3-4oz of whole hops.

How long to dry hop with fresh hops?

Yeh I've done that in the past but the link doesn't really answer my question.. I'm wondering if fresh hops have the ability to spoil when they are being dry-hopped and if so.. how long? The leftover hops that I didn't put in the bucket went bad pretty quickly.

How long to dry hop with fresh hops?

I've searched through many different threads and have been unable to find an answer to this... I acquired a pound of centennial hops that were shipped in from the PAC-NW and used about 8oz of them to dry-hop a Two-Hearted Ale clone I was making.. the leftover hops that I didn't use ended up...

Woops! Wyeast 3638 in an irish stout

Sorry to bump an old post, but how did this turn out?

adding a butterfinger to a milk stout?

so we went ahead with both batches, an American Ale, and the Milk Stout to which I added about 5 oz of unsweetened cocoa powder. As for the peanut infusion thread, I've seen a few options that I'd want to do- either soak the butterfingers in vodka and use the vodka, or use peanut extract. I...

adding a butterfinger to a milk stout?

Yep, we're both 08 alums. A lots chance since I graduated, even moreso for you I bet. I'll have to look for around for alternatives then. Thanks

adding a butterfinger to a milk stout?

I am new to brewing ( 3 batches currently in the pipeline) as is my buddy who has taken up homebrewing with me. He wants to crush up a Butterfinger and add it to the boil with 5 minutes to go. Are there any downfalls or things to watch out for when doing this? I haven't seen much on here about...

    Your runts...

I'm new to all this so this might be a dumb question but wouldn't that be an inaccurate way to determine how your other beers are carbing up? To me it seems like the extra headspace would mean there is more capacity for the CO2 to go into the headspace instead of being forced into the beer...

Sanitizing Bottles in the oven.. does it matter if they touch?

What about stacking them? This is more of a physics question I guess but I figure someone here has done this before and knows the outcome. My concern would be the bottles breaking. I wanted to sterilize all of my bottles for 4 gallons of brew in one go in the oven and not have to do it twice...

Splitting a yeast smack pack on brew day between 2 5-gallon batches

Disclaimer: I used the search function but didn't really see any results that pertain to my situation (maybe I used the wrong keywords). I have only done 1 batch before today, an American IPA where I used dry yeast. I recently got my buddy interested and he purchased a starter kit and an...

brewing at a different location than where the wort will ferment?

Great, looks like this may be possible after all. Thanks.

brewing at a different location than where the wort will ferment?

It would probably be pretty steep.. somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 or 40 bucks.
