First All Grain 5 Gal. Batch Last Night!

Good question, I had to throw together an emergency blow-off the other day..almost made my kids cherrios cherry flavored. It's settled down now, but I have not changed the solution in the jug since I put it together. about 4 days ago.

    Foamy Foam Goodness!

I try to get as close to the final known gravity as I can, but if I get the same reading over the course of a week (taking reading every 2 days or so after at least 3 weeks in the primary), then it's pretty safe to say the fermentation is done. I'll move it to the secondary at that point.

    Experimenting with flavors when bottling...

What I do is, when I am ready to bottle I will draw off enough beer into a seperate pitcher to fill anywhere from 6 to 10 bottles. I add my flavoring to that pitcher (stiring gently and adding the flavor to taste), and when I have it where I want it, then add that to the bolltes. I then bottle...

    Prefered Supplier?

Just wondering what are some of the equipment, and supply shops you all use and why. My LHBS is good for some things, but they don't have a huge selection and may be looking to ordering online at some point for my supplies. thanks -daddy dave
