I just brewed using this Hopville recipe. The yeast wasn't available so I am using Wyeast Belg. Saison (#3724 - http://www.wyeastlab.com/hb_yeaststrain_detail.cfm?ID=60)
I will report back in a few weeks when its finished.
I've been to winemakers 3 times. The first time, I was treated so poorly that I walked out...empty handed and unable to brew that day. After a long hiatus, I decided I would give them another chance. There was a young man there who knew his stuff and was very helpful. Having earned my business...
Thanks Yooper! This recipe worked out very nicely. The color and flavor were a bit different than the target beer, but by far the best Double IPA I've made.
In Columbus, I like Kenny Road and Clintonville Community Market. As for near Newark, I've never had a bad experience at Beverage Source. Joel there really knows his stuff.
Thanks! Apparently I missed that in the previous few posts. Doh! Anyway, I made a batch of this 2 days ago and so far it's perfect. You're right about the smell. If it tastes half as good as it smells I'll be one happy hombrewer.
