    Anchor Christmas Ale 2010

Yeah I'm actually in Detroit, but was in Chicago 2 weeks ago and checked a Binny's. No luck. Dirty25, if you can get your hands on a bottle or 2, I'd be happy to set up a trade with you for some of the other bottles I have, or maybe a couple Michigan beers that you can't get down there. Let...

    Anchor Christmas Ale 2010

Hey All! I want to do a 5 Year Vertical tasting of Anchor Christmas Ales, but last year, I inadvertently drank my last 2010 instead of one of the 2009s I had, so I am without a 2010 example. I have 1 2008, 2 2009s, a 2011, and bunch of the 2012s. Does anybody know of any resources online...

    Dark Lord Day 2011

I can't believe how quickly they sold. I logged in right at 1, and Groups A and B were already sold out. Snagged some of the Group C tickets though, I'm stoked.

A Monster Beer. What to do from here?

I agree with the fact that you're going to have to age the Barleywine for AT LEAST a few months before it's any good. I'd say you could try it at 3, but you probably won't like the outcome until about 6 months. I think 12 months and up is where it'll really hit it's sweet spot. How much...

Have you found "The" beer to end all beers

For the sake of simplicity, I say "Bell's Two-Hearted", but in actuality, there is no way to specify a "beer to end all beers". What mood am I in? What season is it? What am I eating? Bottle or draft? What else have I drank so far? Too many variables, too many beers....

    Making a home brew resume...

For sure let us know how it goes, I'm very interested to hear more!

    I like Natural Light.

No it's not. I work in Minnesota, and I went to a few Twin's games. When confronted with a lack of decent beer selection, I reluctantly tried this, expecting the worst. It was quite tasty.

    I like Natural Light.

I can agree with rayg on one thing, I don't like American Light Lagers, or most American Lagers (namely BMC) for that matter. That's where my agreement ends. To say, though, that homebrewers shouldn't like BMC, or that those who like BMC shouldn't homebrew is off-base. I brew, not only...

Comp category for oaked imperial porter

I'm no expert, never entered any comps, and by no means very well read on the BJCP Guidelines, but you may consider 13F: Russian Imperial Stout. Reviewing the guidelines, they talk about chocolate qualities, dark fruit characteristics (like raisins), and I know, from my Oaked Imperial Porter...

    I like Natural Light.

I didn't get that impression. The way I understood Ray's thread was to say that the type of person who typically homebrew's, is typically the kind of person that spends more money on beer, if for no other reason than because it's typically pretty expensive to homebrew. So it is surprising...

    Catastrophe (sorta)

Yeah, start selling your bone marrow, start babysitting, or something, because that $30/month budget has got to go. I probably do twice that, and I usually don't drink much, if anything, during the week.

    I like Natural Light.

"Check Please!" I'm kidding, at this point, I'll get a Scotch or some wine. Like you, I'll take a domestic light beer if offered, so as not to offend, but if I'm gonna pay for it, I want to enjoy it, and I just don't really enjoy them anymore.

What Beer Was Your Point of No Return?

Guinness lived a very short life in my beer drinking career. At first, back when my favorite beer was Labatt Blue, Guinness was a RARE undertaking, because it was too heavy for me. Then as I became a bit more enlightened, I started to enjoy Guinness. After having Old Rasputin, though, I'm...

    I like Natural Light.

I have to disagree with you here. At what point can we define a basis for comparison. By this logic, you couldn't say a McDonald's Hamburger is of poorer quality than a fine crafted burger at a 5-Star restaurant. I agree, some times I want a McDonald's Hamburger, but I'm not going to delude...

What Beer Was Your Point of No Return?

Hitachino Nest White Ale, which is a bit ironic, because it was only a sip out of a coworkers glass, and I don't even care for the beer anymore. For some reason, that sip set off in my mind the thought that I could brew something like this. I didn't sleep much that night....
