    Water question

    Quick question on water. Lately my brewing buddy and myself have been going to the local supermarket and filling our waters jugs with their distilled water machine. The beers have been turning out well but was curious if there is something else we should be doing (5.2 tablets etc.....?)

    Floating gunk during secondary

    Thanks for all the replies. Just kegged it last night. Turned out to be just hop/yeast. Cold crashed and everything fell to the bottom. Beer smells and tastes great. Super pumped for this one. Will post recipe very shortly.

    Stirring while bringig to boil

    I'm on my 2nd brewers best kit (double ipa) When I'm done steeping the grains should I stir the wort while I'm bringing it to a boil?

    Great info here. This recipe was an extract with steeping grains. How many batches do most people here recommend before going to an all grain?

    I really appreciate all the feedback. So i'm definitely NOT going to take a gravity reading for probably another week and a half. When 2 weeks hits, it sounds like if i'm within my desired FG i should bottle. If im not within my FG at this time, is it beneficial to secondary ferment then? Thanks...
