About a month ago I brewed a Russian Imperial Stout OG 1.096 I used MR Malty to figure out the correct size starter and fermented it in the mid-upper 60s. Beersmith predicted my FG to be 1.022 but it has been stuck at 1.028 for at least 2 weeks now. Is 6 points alot to worry about? I know...
This beer came out very good. The boozyness has mellowed and the hops are shining. Very tasty beer. It was well reviewed at a recent HomeBrew Club meeting.
Haha great name. I just brewed a batch of Jamils Evil Twin. I have planning on brewing this for at least a year so Im pretty excited that I finally got to brew it.
I sampled the first bottle last night and was very impressed. It lacked some aroma compared to the actual beer but is still very tasty. Like many other people have said the hops really shine in this recipe. Thanks again for posting all of these recipes!
I would like to brew a recipe that uses 4oz of Pale Chocolate malt. My LHBS doesnt carry pale but they do carry Chocolate malt. Would I be safe using 2oz of regular chocolate malt instead of the 4oz of pale?
I dry hopped today. I went with a 50/50 blend of Amarillo and Simcoe. The original recipe call for all Amarillo dry hop but I figured a little Simcoe couldnt hurt.
I took a gravity sample today. After 10 days I am down to 1.009-1.010. This beer is very dry and reminds me of a white wine. I am going to transfer this later today and add some dry hops.
I brewed this recipe on 11/18. I missed the OG by a few points came in at 1.076. Added a healthy 1.5L starter and it was going crazy 7 hours later. I am really looking forward to this beer.
