Thanks, it will actually hold 2 and an empty growlers so far. I haven’t been brave enough to add more weight. Though they hold more than enough for the application.

I finally had it with the shelf bracket from lowes. I've been learning some fusion 360, so I designed this thing. I'm hoping to make a customizable file that will allow for some of the other sizes of cheap stainless drip tray. Reprinting them in black now. Drip tray is only $16.

I don't have the same understanding as you. If conversion is complete, which the iodine test will show you, then it's complete. If you take a hit on efficiency, I would think that there is something else in your process causing that. The only thing I can really think of that may be an issue is...

Thing is, if you would test your mash with iodine, there is a good chance it's done converting after 20min maybe less. This is at normal mash temp, which would be reached much quicker than boiling the same mass. So what are you actually saving in time? Go to a pharmacy and buy some iodine...
