    Second Year Centennial Pruning Question

    Hello! I just pulled my two Centennial hops out of my garage and the bull shoots have already sprouted. This is their second year. Should I let the shoots grow a bit more before I cut them all off? Have a look at the photos and let me know. Thanks!

    New BIAB Setup... Couple of questions...

    I've been wondering the same thing about a false bottom as I don't use one in my setup (yet). I have seen people tie a string to their false bottom so they can easily fish it out pre-boil. I don't see how it would hurt to leave it in though. Looking forward to reading other brewers thoughts.

    There Has Got To Be an Easier Way

    I did a 20lb BIAB in my 10 gallon kettle yesterday. Mashed in at 150F, wrapped it in a sleeping bag and it went down to 148F after 45 mins. I then unwrapped it, stirred it and it rose back up to 150F for the remaining 45 minutes of the mash. It was around 55F ambient temp in my garage. I was...
