Mirror Pond Pale Ale.....Deschutes....OR, US....8.5 One of the best commercial Pale Ales out there. Excellent hop aroma and a nice roasty malt finish makes this seem like a fantastic homebrew.

    Eaux de Yeast

My latest batch of beer (15 gallons worth) was a clone of my first beer I ever made (arguably one of the best). Unfortunately, this time the yeast took nearly a month to finish primary fermentation at which point I bottled. I primed with honey as I have always done, but now that they have been...

    Lagering in the Mountains

Hi all, I was thinking about brewing my first lager. I don't have an extra fridge to lager it in, instead I was thinking about just digging a deep hole in the snow up at my cabin on Mt. Ranier and letting it sit there for a couple of weeks. Has anyone heard of people doing something like...

    Sediment

Just tried your suggestion...as long as I get the lid off and pour the cider in the glass quickly enough, I can decant the cider successfully. Thank you!

    Sediment

I just cracked a bottle of my spiced cider and noticed it tasted kinda off and my stomach started feeling a little funny a few minutes later. So I tried anther one, and I noticed that as soon as i cracked it open, the yeast sediment at the bottom instantly started to rise and mix with the rest...

I agree with alexgrate about the wheat. Now your beer is shaping up to be somethin' awfully tasty!

    Extract IPA

Sounds pretty good after the changes. Still seems like it will be a little too dark, especially with the addition of the roasted barley (from my experience this can add quite a bit of color). Personally I would suggest eliminating the roasted and 60 and add more of the 40 crystal. Also I...

    Hop Varieties.

Hey all, I was wondering if there are any bad hop combinations with conflicting aromas? I would like to start using other types of hops beside the local NW hops I have always used. Any thoughts?

    Wit Blu Moon

Basically, you treat the boil like a countdown. So when it says hallertau @ 60min., this means that you will add it at the beginning of the boil, and it will stay in there for 60 min., the next addition is at 45 min, so you will add it 15 min. after the hops... Does this help?

    Fresh outta Puyallup, WA

Awsome, I kinda figured as much...it seems like the PNW is one the largest brewing centers of the country (and probably the world). I always love supporting local anything (music, food, festivals, etc.)
