Drinking a amber ale I kegged but tasted awesome before I kegged Wtf. Then again I waited to put in fridge for five days after I kegged. Taste like a hint of cider?
Ok I kegged a saision amber ale after in the primary for three weeks. I tried it before I kegged it and it was great. The starsan the hell out of the keg then kegged it. I then let the keg sit at about room temp 72 degrees for three days. Put it in fridge for 1 day and taste a little apple?
well I run three burners and I dump in sparge water and mix it in the grains and wait ten mins.. thats about how long it takes me .. Only ten mins extra.. so your right it does take longer.. my bad
If you want you should add about another gallon of water.. but If you like High gravity beers leave it alone... That is all up to you.. If you want it more in the 1060 range add a gallon.. that should do.. but do it in 1/2 gallon incriments then mix and take another reading.
thats why I don't brew cider or wine... too damn impatient... I do respect you for all the work you do..... I will stick to brewing beer...
P.S you seem to have pleanty experience to know that you sure do need to age cider for at least a year.
