Man, WhereTF have I been!!! I gotta say that I absolutely love your projects, all of 'em. Your plants want more nitrogen. That is why there is a general yellowing, of all your plants, from bottom to top. When winter comes I would suggest that you mothball the thing. Put your fish in...

So first Year Hop Growers - how'd it turn out ?

Plants are still growing. I have been getting small harvests all year long. I can definetly tell what the photoperiod does to the plant; the internodes get really short and the leaves get small. The plants are still healthy and growing however, so I will just let them go until the look ready...

So first Year Hop Growers - how'd it turn out ?

I purchased 10 rhizomes from freshops and received 11.:rockin: 5 (4+1 free) centennial 2 Willamette 2 Goldings 2 Mt. hood I split them up 5 outside and 6 in my greenhouse. Out of the 5 outside only one is still alive due to the intense central texas heat. We have had at least...

    Too Hot

I have 5 outside and 6 inside. The 6 inside are in a greenhouse and are doing great. The 5 outside are down to 4, with only 3 doing okay. The heat is really retarding growth. Here in Austin it has been almost 100 or more every day for a month.

Pictures of your Hop Babies/Hop Photo Thread

theorhetically it would be possible to get a winter harvest in AZ. The harvest would not be as big, but you would have fresh hops.:D Many plants that depend on daylength can give a double harvest if properly managed. Grow lights, as mentioned, would also be a second way to get a harvest for...

    Spider Mites or Just Spiders?

Catch them if you want, but from the picture I know what that insect is. I don't know the name, but we have tons of them here in Austin. Have you tried some neem oil or a light dusting of Sulfer? and FYI spider mites are much, much smaller then that spider

    Spider Mites or Just Spiders?

First pic is a spider. Second pic is of an insect that is like a small version of a cicada (you know the ones that make a ton of noise in the summer up in trees). They don't do a ton of damage, but they are piercing/sucking critters. Not much you can do for them since they are so mobile...

    Yellow Leaves

My vote is too much water. Over watering does exhibit general yellowing of the plant. When I look at your leaves I do notice green veins though. Over watering does present quite a few odd behaviors in plants, however if it is not the problem then it IS a micronutrient problem. The above...

    Rant: AHHHH THOSE MOTHERFRS

They sure don't sound like the normal "Austin" type. I would be grumpy too.

help me ID this pest/nutrient problem

Rust. Don't worry, this plant will outgrow the problem.

    White spots and cob web

After getting my hops in the mail, mine looked the same. Those are little spots where roots are trying to form.
