Yeast Dilemma..Pitch both packs or just one?
Make a start with the newest yeast. The yeast are very interested in reproducing. IMHO, most of the starter calculators are based on incorrect or possibly non-consistent assumptions. Plating Yeast & Selecting Colonies
My two cents on the subject. The purpose of streaking to reduce the odds of selecting a "mutant" to near zero. If my math is right based on the comments by microbrew the odds of a mutant are about 1 in a million. So after you have "spread" out the yeast cells the odds of any individual cell... -
