Well it's a dark day but a move is forcing me to sell my baby. I've dumped probably $6-700 into this puppy and I'm curious what ya'll think it could sell for.
Full Size Kenmore - Custom Paint ;)
4 Stainless Perlick Taps
4 Stainless - 4" Shanks
3 Corny Kegs
Is this possible or perhaps did I take a totally inaccurate initial reading? I'm 110% confident my second two were correct. All three readings were taken using a refract... Not certain if its relevant but I did have tremendous activity for the first two weeks.
OG = 1.0512
Gravity after...
OG - 1.052
1 Liter Starter using the finest Chico Yeast
1oz Amarillo Buds - Dry H.
Temp = ~68 F
Estimated ABV = 8.9%, probably why it's taking so darn long.
Thanks for the replies, patience is a virtue.
Been Fermenting in the primary for 8 days now (old Rogue IPA Squared Clone) and still seeing decent activity. In my less than 300 gallon history I've never seen something carry on this long.
My questions:
Is this normal?
Is this simply residual activity that is not necessarily yeast...
sadly the witbier has gone down the drain, and I'm brewing a california golden tomorrow and an IPA next week. Are you saying simply pull some wort from tomorrow's batch and use it next week?
Historically I've been lucky enough to get free Yeast from my local brew house. In an effort to reduce my laziness I finally wanted to kick things off with a decent starter as my last batch of witbier was ruined by trusting a weak smack pack. Out of 20 batches I guess one is bound to fail...
