I agree with Yooper, I used to strain it then I stopped because it was a PITA. I still make good beer that I enjoy and so do my friends. Enjoy

Look in the DIY section of this site, search for weldless fittings, its explained pretty well. I also used to BIAB ---stuggled with a 7gal turkey pot, upgraded to a 11gal, I too reccomend a 10 gal or larger to do your boils in.

I also bewed this before I went AG , I revisited this thread hoping for the AG recipe, I would hope that the only taste difference would be the extract 'twang' will be gone--(not that there is anything wrong with that!!!) I will work up a AG recipe with a little more alc % and post it when I can...

I have never chilled, I take the brew pot straight (with lid on) to the ferment chamber, at a minimum leave it overnight, and have gone as long as several days before pouring into the bucket. I have never had any off flavors, infections or booogey men in my beers. But I too add 1/2 gal extra...
