Back in August I brewed NB's Phat Tyre clone. It fermented down nicely in primary and I moved it to secondary. It has been in secondary since late september. The room has remained a constant temp, and I have been pretty religous about keeping vodka in the airlock. Life has just been real busy...
I dont know how to go scientific in my explanation, but when you rack your beer into your bottling bucket from many small sources (the SS screen) as opposed to one source (your cane) you are forcing a large quantity of liquid to go through very small openings, and it holds the chance of creating...
Yesterday I bottled my first IPA which I dry hopped for 8 days. My racking procedures are not quite at "expert" level, and I noticed in some of my bottles there are a few chunky particles of hop pellets. I read about this on another thread some time ago, but cant seem to find it for the life of...

Thanks in advance.
I will be popping my apfelwein making cherry in T-Minus 6 hours. Got everything waiting for me at home, only thing stopping me is work.
And Ed, I am doing it "Ed's way" for my first attempt!
I just wanted to thank everyone on this site for the wealth of knowledge. Just over a week ago I brewed my first batch. It fermented in a week and got to grav spot on. I bottled it with not too much trouble, and tonight after work I could not help myself. I had a glass of flat, semi warm...
So does this stuff really have the potential to ruin your next day? I mean, I am getting exited to whip some up next week, but in reading these, I realize that everyone who drinks it ends up with a WTF headache! So is it bad news to get drunk off the apel or what? I wanted to brew up 10 gal and...
Freshman Science does pay off in practice, but remember, wort is not 100% water. As Got Wort? stated, it should boil just above 212 due to the elevated sugar content.
