Cantillon Gueuze - how long to shelve it

Keep it for as long as you like. I'm heading over to Cantillon tomorrow - amongst other things they're going to be cracking open some 1996 Geuze.

    Beer in Copenhagen?

The two Mikkeller bars in Copenhagen would be the obvious place to start.

    French beers

"Jenlain" is quite easy to find - a bier de garde from the NE of France. In a similar vein, "Ch'Ti", "La Goudale" and "3 Monts" are also easily available. Mont Saleve from the Haute-Savoie region makes some decent beer. For a French-style DIPA, Dalva from Brasserie Thiriez is worth...

    St. Bernardus brewery tour

Bear in mind that the St Bernardus brewery is in Watou - the other side of the country to Antwerp (albeit a small country). The brewery has a B+B next door where you can stay and it looks as if they'd arrange a tour of the brewery for you. See here... http://www.brouwershuis.com/

    British beer (bottled) recommendations

Ask her to get you something from the Kernel Brewery... http://thekernelbrewery.com/ The website gives details of their beers and where to get them. The other one to look at would be Meantime. http://www.meantimebrewing.com/

    Beer bars in Amsterdam?

Arendsnest and Beer Temple are certainly open on Sundays. I'd be surprised if many restaurants/cafes/bars close on Sundays - may be they'll shut a bit earlier, but you won't go hungry or thirsty.

    Beer bars in Amsterdam?

Gollem's closed (the one opposite Cracked Kettle). Arendsnest is pretty good and the Beer Temple's OK too (both owned by the same guy). The best beer shop is De Bierkoning (just off Dam Square).

Friends went to Belgium, all I got was AWESOME

Don't think so - it's just a branded tape they use to package the bottles up as three packs (one of each variety). I've seen them for sale like that in Amsterdam.

    The [Horribly Unpopular] Soccer Thread

I've always liked Saints. Grew up in hampshire and had a few school mates that were regulars at the dell. It's a shame they've fallen so far. Still, you can always dust off replays of the great Le God....

What are beer laws and beer selection like where you're from?

I live in Holland (originally from UK). You can buy beer in a store from the age of 16 and I think you can drink in a bar at 16. Bars have variable opening times, but are generally open 'til 1am and you'll most find somewhere to drink to at least 3am. Stores though don't tend to open...

    Thoughts on Hoegaarden

I heard a pretty well-known Belgian brewer claim that to be the best Witbier he'd ever tasted.
