    Under Primed/Under Conditioned?

So what temp would you have mashed

    Under Primed/Under Conditioned?

I mashed at steady 152 for an hour, basically following Palmer's advice in his book for brown ales. What would have suggested? I understand you can get your mash temp too high and it creates undesirable flavors?

    Under Primed/Under Conditioned?

Should the OG have been higher as well? If the OG was in range for a brown ale (I thought it was) but my FG is low for this style, what should I Have done differently? Thanks, DC

    Under Primed/Under Conditioned?

Good news, I moved the bottles to a warmer area and gently shook it up a few times. It now has a gorgeous tan head that retains well and it is tasting richer and better....might end up still being a bit on the "light" side as far as taste goes...we shall see.

    Lysol Sanitizer ?!

It works great. There is no taste of any kind at the proper dilution. It is rated for use in dairies as well as bar rinses. I use it all the time.

Anyone Use Lysol Food Surface Sanitizer When Brewing?

I found it in a gallon concentrate at smart and final. At about a tbsp per gallon of sanitizer, it is going to last a long time. It works great! It is rated for use in dairies, so it is good enough for brewing.

    Thermometer question

I love these kind of threads! I can read along wisely nodding my head...but without a glossary and science degree...I am screwed.

    Under Primed/Under Conditioned?

I have been keeping them in a dark cool closet, I will get the heat up a bit, but keep them in the dark. @jdslep: my mash temp was a steady 152 F for an hour. Thanks everyone!

    Under Primed/Under Conditioned?

A few of months back I decided to get back into brewing, and this was my first all grain. I decided to do a brown ale. The milled grain bill weighed 11 lbs (but misplaced the recipe - so I can't tell you exactly what was in it.) I hopped it with an ounce of Galena at 60 minutes and an...

    Mystery Recipe

First Brew day in 10 years went off without a hitch yesterday. I am pleased because I am using equipment that I have "manufactured" in the last couple of weeks. Rubbermade lauter tun, converted a keg to a brew kettle, built a wort chiller, made a hop bag from a large pvc fitting - a paint...

    Valve/Spigot on Brewing Kettle Question

Probably, I thought the joke might be slightly more sophisticated....:) The extension still makes the most sense to me if I want to completely protect the valve. The small amount of wort sitting in the extension can be easily discarded.

    Valve/Spigot on Brewing Kettle Question

    Valve/Spigot on Brewing Kettle Question

Sounds like a simple solution (the foil shield).....but I'm going to bite on the joke about raising a family....I don't get it?

    Valve/Spigot on Brewing Kettle Question

I am converting a keg to a brewing vessel. I have been looking at valve/spigots at Home Depot and there is a brass (no lead) ball valve that I used on my drink cooler lauter tun, that I am also considering using on the brewing vessel. However, if you look inside the spigot you can see what I...

    Mystery Recipe

Thank you Chick & Ru! Chick, yes I meant John Palmer, Brian Palmer is a friend of mine and somehow I brain farted and use his name; as far as I know Brian knows nothing about beer except that he would like one. :)
